Legislation to reform prior authorization heads to full Senate
Indiana Hospital Association Applauds Senate Appropriations Committee for Protecting Hoosier Patients

The following is a statement from IHA President Scott B. Tittle on the passage of Senate Bill (SB) 480 on Prior Authorization as amended from the Senate Appropriations Committee.
“With the current process for prior authorization, when Hoosiers are denied care, it often leads to much more complicated and costly care later. Senate Bill 480 will improve the process by putting patients first and accelerating insurers’ approvals for life-saving care. We wish to thank Senator Tyler Johnson, who authored the bill, and members of the Senate Appropriations Committee for protecting patients so Hoosiers can get the treatment they need – when they need it.”
The bill will next move to the full Indiana Senate for consideration.
