Scott B. Tittle Named President of Indiana Hospital Association

Oct. 29, 2024 (INDIANAPOLIS) — The Indiana Hospital Association (IHA) Board of Directors has selected Scott B. Tittle, J.D., to serve as president of the association. The hiring of Tittle, effective Nov. 25, 2024, follows a nationwide search to recruit a new president to lead the trade association that represents more than 170 hospitals throughout the state.

“We’re excited to welcome Scott who brings extensive experience in association leadership and health care advocacy, with a deep understanding of the policies that shape our industry,” said Steve Holman, chair of the IHA Board of Directors and president and CEO of Union Health. “By tapping into Scott’s passion for connecting with people and strengthening partnerships, IHA will continue to be a powerful force in improving the health of Hoosiers.”

Tittle was previously managing director for VIUM Capital, an Ohio-based financial services firm that specializes in long term care and senior housing lending, where he led government relations and external affairs.

Prior to joining VIUM, Tittle was executive director of the National Center for Assisted Living (NCAL) in Washington, D.C. and president of the Indiana Health Care Association/Indiana Center for Assisted Living (IHCA/INCAL) in Indianapolis where he guided skilled nursing facilities and assisted living operators with their regulatory, reimbursement, and advocacy needs at the federal and state levels. While leading IHCA/INCAL, he helped enact an innovative value-based Medicaid reimbursement program for skilled nursing facilities focused on key quality outcomes.

"I have great respect for all that IHA has achieved through its advocacy and patient safety initiatives, which has helped more Hoosiers get access to the care they need,” said Tittle. “I look forward to advancing the mission of IHA even further by providing leadership and support in a collaborative way so Indiana hospitals can focus on what they do best – delivering affordable, high-quality care.”

Earlier in his career, Tittle worked as a health care attorney with the law firm Krieg DeVault LLP, and served as Special Counsel and Health Policy Director to Indiana Governor Mitch Daniels. It was under Gov. Daniels’s administration that Tittle successfully helped advocate for a cigarette tax increase that funded the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP).

Tittle earned his law degree from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law and his bachelor’s degree in English and political science from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

As IHA’s sixth president in its 103 years as an association, Tittle succeeds Blake Dye, a former hospital administrator who has led IHA as interim president since May when the previous president, Brian Tabor, stepped down from his role.

“The entire board wishes to thank Blake for his exemplary service during this transition,” said Holman. “Because of Blake's steady leadership, built over a career spanning four decades, IHA has continued to support Indiana’s hospitals during this crucial time for our industry and for the patients and communities we serve.”
